Cap Congrats

We’ve been celebrating with a number of our players who’ve reached club milestones in the last month. Akeem, Connor and Jacob have all passed the ‘25 Cap’ marker for Mavs and we couldn’t be prouder.

All three players have taken part in league matches, tournaments, friendlies and social league games for Mavs and it’s great to see them playing so much netball.

Jacob is one of our foundation players and he’s been on court at every opportunity. He picked up Player of the Match in our first ever league game back in April and he’s been a great vice-captain of our men’s team. Jacob was re-selected into the England U25 Trailblazers earlier this year and he’s also a big part of the Mavs off court team as Treasurer, social league coordinator and all-round netball facilitator!

Akeem is high on the list of everyone’s favourite Mav. Whether he’s smashing it on court or supporting on the sidelines, Akeem gives it everything and we LOVE his energy. Akeem’s picked up Player of the Match accolades in national league and social league games and he’s currently in St Kitts representing St Vincent and the Grendines in the Americas Netball Men’s Cup.

Connor is one of the hardest working Mavs out there, making the switch this year from defence to mid-court with fantastic results. He was voted Mav of the Match in our Superleague curtain-raiser against Spartans and that’s a just reward for all the work he’s put into training this year. Connor’s another member of the off-court team, arranging our umpires and keeping everyone on track.

Congratulations to you all from the Mavs family!

We firmly believe that whatever level you choose to play at, your participation matters so we count caps for national league and social leage matches in the same way. Ever member of our club matters and every on court achievement is celebrated.

There are more players closing in on the 25 cap milestone and you can bet we’ll be shouting about them too. Who’ll be next in the Mavs Hall of Fame? Make sure you’re following us on Instagram to find out.

There’ll also be more celebrations coming in early November when we mark our netball club’s first birthday with the Mavs Awards 2024.
