Mavs Awards 2024

We celebrated our 1st birthday at the start of November and hosted our first club awards night to mark the occasion! This was such a fun evening with a big group of Mavs getting together to raise a glass to everything we’ve achieved and to present our coveted awards.

First up, was the presentation of Club Colours to every Mav who has represented the club during the year and then we moved onto the BIG awards, all voted for by our members.

So, drum roll please… here are your 2024 award winners!

Then, we moved onto the ‘Honourable Mentions’ and these were awarded to the Mavs who were singled out by other players as having made signifcant contributions to the life of the club over the year, whether on court or off. As you can see, there are LOTS of Mavs who’ve been brilliant this year.

Finally, the BIG award - Maverick of the Year and this year, the winner of that prestigious title was the brilliant Akeem Griffith. Akeem is a Mav to his core, he’s always there for the team, he’s works so hard on court and is our biggest supporter of it. If we ever needed to show the world what being a Mav is all about, we’d point to Akeem and we’re thrilled that he’s the inaugural Maverick of the Year.
